The weather has changed and we're experiencing cold winter conditions. The rain is very beneficial, but I am not enjoying the unseasonal cold weather. I looked over my back fence and noticed one of our neighbours has smoke drifting out of his chimney. There is light mist in the valley beyond and rain drizzle is falling. The garden is loving it!

That's Spring for you. We get all excited by bright sunny days then a drop of rain and it is cold again. I never bank on consistent warmth in the mountains until November.
Ours is one of the places with a fire lit tonight. We have been out at Kandos until today and our garden certainly looks like it got a fair dump of rain while we were away.
Yes fires are great in the Mountains, especially the mid and higher mountains. We have a gas fire. Not quite the same, but still great for warmth on a cold day or night.
